Attention: indie art & design is taking a short break until mid-June 2024. During this time orders will not be taken but we look forward to seeing all of our valued and future customers very soon!

contribute as a writer, photographer or stylist

Do you share passion for independent design, art & craft as well as writing or fashion/product photography?

indie art & design would love to hear from you and discuss becoming a contibutor. We have positions available for people who would like to write regular posts for our blog, or contribute to our bi-monthly online mini-magazine.

Our blog is essentially an Australian shopping blog. We focus on art, design & craft goods designed/made by independent makers, artists & illustrators who are exhibiting their work, boutiques who stock Australian indie labels and design events such as markets & trade fairs.

Our mini-mag, "Feathered", allows us to publish more in depth articles on a wider range of topics. We are seeking enthusiastic people to write articles, and emerging photographers and stylists who would like to organise/shoot fashion, product or style photo editorials. If this sounds like you, and you have some spare time, please get in touch. We'd love to see a diverse range of ideas, opinions & images published here on indie art & design!

(Please note that while articles can be planned well in advance, we do require work to be submitted by deadlines for "Feathered".)

At this stage, all contributor positions are on an unpaid, voluntary basis. We appreciate the generous contributions made by our volunteers, and thank them for enriching the indie art & design experience.

submit your own news or designs

We are also on the look out for indie related news and events, exhibitions and happenings. If you want to share your indie experiences with the wider community then please contact nineteen.toes@indie.com.au for more information! If you'd like to submit your own work for consideration for our blog, magazine or online store, please see the details on our submit page.

We read all the emails we receive, but due to the large volume we are unable to reply to everyone in a timely fashion. If your submission catches our attention at a busy time, we will keep it on file & contact you sometime in the future!
